Built by Sam Brannan for the Napa Valley Railroad in 1868, Calistoga Depot stood one year before the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad. It is the second oldest remaining railroad station in California. It served as the northern terminus of the Napa Valley Railroad and of its successors, the Napa Valley Branches of the Central Pacific Railroad and the Southern Pacific Railroad. It was restored in 1978 by the Calistoga Depot Association.
