Built by Ambrose Clark, an heir to the Singer sewing machine fortune and a prominent race horse breeder and owner, this building later served as the Westbury War Memorial Community Center in 1946 and the Westbury Memorial Public Library in 1947, and currently is the Westbury Community Center & War Memorial.
