The British airship R34 accomplished the first crossing of the Atlantic by air from east to west and the first double crossing of the Atlantic by air when it left East Fortune, Scotland, on July 2nd 1919, landed at Mineola, Long Island, on July 6th, and returned to Pulham, England, arriving on July 13th 1919.
