Red Mountain is a 13,914-foot summit in the Culebra Range of south-central Colorado, about 15 miles southeast of San Luis, on private land in Costilla County. Rising among the highest peaks in the range, it forms part of the high country at the southern end of Colorado’s Sangre de Cristo system. Its recorded historical names include Espinazo Rojo and Red Mountain, both noted in 1972.
