The Lincoln County Poor Farm operated on 230 acres in these hills, where many people lived and died. About 100 who died there are buried on the hillside 500 yards northwest of this location, and no grave identifications remain. At minimal taxpayers' expense, the farm afforded a meaningful, pleasant, and homelike existence to discarded and helpless people of all ages, and everyone had a job.
