Old Bethpage Village Restoration is a 209-acre living history museum in Old Bethpage, New York, created to recreate a typical mid-19th-century Long Island farming village. Developed after Nassau County acquired the Powell property in 1963, it grew from a preservation effort that saved historic buildings from demolition. The site now contains dozens of preserved and reconstructed structures, including the Powell Farmhouse, the Schenck House, and the Bach Blacksmith Shop, while interpreters and demonstrations present daily life of the period. Seasonal programs, the annual Long Island Fair, music, farming, and other public events have made it a major preservation and educational center despite past threats to its future.
