Donaldson Creek Baptist Church was organized on Apr. 10, 1814, as an arm of Dry Creek Church with 27 charter members, and Thomas Ross was its first pastor. It became a separate body on July 12, 1818, and its first deacons were John Allen and Nathan Futrell. Its first building was a log structure here on land donated by Basil Holland. The present sanctuary was built in 1913 at a cost of $575 for materials and $20 for labor. Charter members included the Boren, Bridges, Brunk, Calhoun, Colson, Cowand, Craig, Futrell, Hargrove, Holland, Lindsey, Mashburn, Sholar, Sumner, Thomas, Wilson, and Young families, who settled here between 1799 and 1814. The oldest church in Little River Assn. dating from 1818, it is the mother of churches at Oak Grove, founded in 1875, and Maple Grove, founded in 1943.
