During the Viet Nam War, three young soldiers from Oakdale, Louisiana, gave their lives for the love of their country: Herbert (Terry) Cross, 2nd Lt. U.S. Marines, 1944-1968; Bryford G. Metoyer, 2nd Lt. U.S. Army, 1938-1968; and Gary M. McCollough, Pvt. U.S. Army, 1948-1968. The people of Oakdale, Louisiana, honor them and remember them always.
