The Bog Garden in Greensboro, North Carolina, is a wetland preserve, botanical garden, and city park created to protect and interpret a bog landscape within the city. Donated from the former Starmount Farms property to the city in 1987, it was rehabilitated through the efforts of Dr. Joe Christian, city staff, volunteers, and local nurseries using native plants. Centered on a bog and a lake, the site features a half-mile elevated boardwalk, indigenous vegetation, and habitat for native and migratory birds. A 150-foot man-made waterfall added in 2005 and dedicated to Dr. Christian in 2007 reflects its blend of conservation, public recreation, and local philanthropy.
