Nathan Hale, Esq., a captain in the army of the United States, was born on June 6th, 1755, received the first honors of Yale College in September 1773, and resigned his life as a sacrifice to his country’s liberty at New York on September 22d, 1776, at the age of 22. His last words were, “I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country.”
