Stanley A. Coveleski was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1969 after a career pitching for Philadelphia in the American League in 1912, Cleveland in the American League from 1916 to 1924, Washington in the American League from 1925 to 1927, and New York in the American League in 1928. He was a star pitcher with a record of 214 wins and 141 losses, an average of .603, and an E.R.A. of 2.88. He won 20 or more games in 5 seasons, won 13 straight games in 1925, and pitched and won 3 games for Cleveland in the 1920 World Series with an E.R.A. of 0.67.
