Descendants dedicated this tribute to the sacred memory of the brave pioneers who entered the wilderness of what later became Kentucky and formed the settlement known as Boonesborough, the first fortified settlement in Kentucky. It honors those remembered as among the first families of Kentucky and records a long roll of names associated with the settlement, while also recognizing the Fort Boonesborough Bi-Centennial Commission for its contribution to the celebration of the two hundredth anniversary of the founding of Fort Boonesborough.
