Gustavus Adolphus Hall, built in 1895 and destroyed by fire in 1964, remained fondly remembered by many as a residence hall, student hub, and campus center, and on the occasion of their 25th reunion the Class of 1968 planted a pin oak (Quercus palustris) tree in June 1993 in its memory.
