The AH-1F Cobra helicopter tail number 67-15506 was purchased by the United States Army in February 1968. Between April and July that year, it performed various duties at Fort Worth, Fort Still, and Fort Belvoir. In August 1968, it was deployed to Vietnam, where it assisted in the war until June 1969. After Vietnam, it was used for bailment at Fort Hood, Texas, until April 1983, then relocated to Fort Drum until June 1992. In September 1992, it was assigned to the Army National Guard in Corpus Christi, Texas, for the Aurora Company until 1997, and during that period it was in Desert Storm. In 1997, it was retired from duty and underwent restoration. On June 2, 2003, the historic Whiskey Cobra reached Eden, New York, for use as a static display in the community.
