The site of the John Holyoke House marks a house built in 1811 and dismantled in 1997. It is part of the Brewer Historical Society's Chamberlain Freedom Park, dedicated in 1997 in honor of General Joshua L. Chamberlain. The park is Maine's official memorial to the Underground Railroad and was dedicated in 2002.
