Indian Well State Park in Shelton, Connecticut, occupies 153 acres on the west bank of Lake Housatonic and is known for a 15-foot horsetail waterfall that drops into a splash pool. The park began in 1928 when 150 acres, including nearly two miles of riverfront, were acquired from the Ousatonic Water Power Company, establishing a protected area later incorporated into Connecticut’s state park system. It combines natural scenery with recreation through the Paugussett Trail, a boat launch on a bass-managed lake, swimming and picnicking facilities, and annual regattas hosted by the New Haven Rowing Club since the 1990s.
