Kansas State University Gardens is a nineteen-acre horticultural display garden on the university campus in Manhattan, created and maintained by the Department of Horticulture, Forestry and Recreation Resources. Open to the public during daylight hours from March through November without an admission fee, it is a relatively new project designed to expand over time. Its completed first phase includes collections of daylilies, irises, and roses, along with specialty areas such as the Cottage Garden, the Insect Zoo Garden, and the Native/Adaptive Plant Garden. Nearby are the insect zoo and the university conservatory, and future development plans include additional peony and hosta collections.
