Stuyvesant Falls Overlook Park
Nature
Stuyvesant Falls, also called Third Falls, dates to 1823 and rises 26 feet high. Lower Falls, below the bridge, was called Second Falls and stood 45 feet high, while First Falls was in Rossman. On this site stood the general store of J.A. Dick, later owned by J. R. Hughes. Stuyvesant Falls Overlook Park was created as a Bicentennial Eagle Scout project by Keith Monthie in cooperation with the Town of Stuyvesant and Chemetron Corp., dedicated in 1976, rehabilitated in 2009 by Eagle Scout Christopher Benfield, and fully renovated in 2019 by Eagle Scout Joshua Krizar.
