Hurtsboro United Methodist Church
Faith
The First Methodist Church in Hurtsboro, then called Hurtsville, was originally built in 1865 in Olivet about 4 miles south. After that building burned, a wooden church was built on this site in 1876. In 1906, during the pastorate of Reverend W.S. Street, it was replaced by the present brick building. A Sunday School Annex was added in 1947, and the church became a significant landmark known throughout the Alabama-West Florida Conference for its beauty and stained glass windows.
