Dr. John G. Rogers was the first president of the Clermont County Anti-Slavery Society and a financial supporter of James G. Birney, publisher of The Philanthropist newspaper. He practiced medicine for over 60 years and is most noted for delivering victorious Union General and 18th President Ulysses S. Grant on April 27, 1822, in nearby Pt. Pleasant.
