Pomona Hall in Camden, New Jersey, is an early colonial mansion closely associated with the Cooper family, prominent settlers in West Jersey. Built in stages beginning in 1726 and enlarged in 1788, the house preserves visible evidence of both construction periods in its brickwork and cellar windows. Its architecture includes a stone foundation, brick walls, dormers, and Georgian features inside and out. The house was also connected to colonial and Revolutionary-era public life through Joseph Cooper Jr., a member of the New Jersey General Assembly and friend of Benjamin Franklin, and Marmaduke Cooper, who briefly joined local revolutionary committees. Restored to its Revolutionary-era appearance, it survives as one of New Jersey’s finest and earliest historic houses.
