Charles Gust came to Rockaway Beach in 1927 after immigrating from Greece to seek his dream in America. He and his wife, Anastasia, started a small business on the shore of the cove, raised their family there, and served those who traveled to visit Rockaway Beach. The calm, relaxed atmosphere they knew there many years ago still lingers today, reflecting their contribution and persistence in making their home at Rockaway Beach.
