The London Grove Oak was a white oak, Quercus alba, with a girth at breast height of 22 feet 2 inches, a height of 82.5 feet, and a spread of 117 feet. A second plaque gave the dates 1682 and 1982 and stated that this tree was living when William Penn came to Pennsylvania in 1682. It also recorded the tree as a white oak, Quercus alba, with a girth at breast height in 1932 of 17 feet 1 inch.
