Joseph Priestley Museum
Science & Tech
The retrieval and preservation of the home of Joseph Priestley resulted from the thought and action of George Gilbert Pond, a chemist, teacher, and friend. Born in 1861 and died in 1920, he served as Professor of Chemistry at the Pennsylvania State College for thirty-two years. The preservation, restoration, and maintenance of the homestead and the erection of the museum were undertaken by his students as a memorial to their beloved friend.
