Carl Potter Mound is a Native American burial mound in southern Champaign County, Ohio, near Mechanicsburg, notable in a county with relatively few surviving prehistoric earthworks. Also known as Hodge Mound II, it stood on the Potter farm, where other burials and artifacts have been connected to the Cole period, while a smaller nearby mound was largely destroyed by cultivation. This mound was partly reduced but survived after plowing stopped. Finds from digging in the 1930s were too limited to identify its builders with certainty, though archaeologists have suggested an Adena origin. By 1970 it was one of only three recorded county mounds still standing, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 for its archaeological potential.
