The Pueblo Alto Trail follows an ancient route up from Chaco Canyon to the rim, where overlooks above Pueblo Bonito and Chetro Ketl reveal the geometry of the buildings, the interrelationship of the great houses, and the extent of the Chacoan world. Atop the mesa is Pueblo Alto, where aerial photography and excavations have shed more light on Chaco's connections throughout the San Juan Basin.
