Minster’s forefathers brought with them a fervent Catholic faith, a low-German language, and many traditions. The first Catholic church in Minster was built in 1835, when the pioneers erected a log structure forty by sixty feet and sixteen logs high in the North Park. The present St. Augustine Catholic Church, built in 1848, still stands as a sentinel keeping watch over the community. This faith has seen the community through both good and difficult times.
