On Darby Creek in Newtown Township, Pennsylvania, this historic industrial complex preserves the domestic, commercial, and industrial life of a nineteenth-century mill community. Its surviving buildings include a four-family stone workers' housing block built in 1828 and a store added in 1845, alongside archaeological remains from two successive mills. The site includes William Crosley's Woolen Mill, which operated from 1828 to 1861, and Casper S. Garrett's Union Paper Mill, active from 1869 to 1889. Also known as the Paper Mill House, the complex now serves as a museum and the headquarters of the Newtown Square Historical Society.
