Fullerton was one of only a few cities in Louisiana with a public swimming pool, located across the road from the hotel. The modern concrete pool had diving boards and slides, and a constant stream of fresh water flowed through it to the mill pond. The Fullerton hospital was modern for its time, and employees paid a small monthly fee for health coverage: $2.50 per family or $1.50 for single men. According to the 1920 census, Dr. Charles E. Spivey, Dr. R.E. Winham, and Dr. William Glass were the mill physicians at Fullerton.
