Wilmer Flory, a Logansport native, was a science teacher, horticulturist, city councilman, and a founder of the American Hemerocallis (Daylily) Society. During his lifetime he hybridized 31 daylily cultivars and received many honors and awards. Several cultivars he hybridized are contained in the Daylily Garden below and the one on the west side of the building. The gardens and notebook were created and are maintained by the Master Gardeners of Cass County, Purdue University Extension Service.
