Under Capt. Samuel E. Barrett and Lieut. Israel P. Rumsey, Battery B served four 6-pounder guns and two 12-pounder howitzers on this ridge on May 19, with the right and center sections serving their pieces here on May 20 and 21, while the left section moved to an advanced battery on the morning of May 20 and returned to this line on the evening of May 21. The battery moved to an advanced position on the morning of May 22, 1863.
