Central Memorial Park, dedicated in 2008, occupies the former site of the old Central Public School. The school was built in 1901, was accredited as a three year high school in 1902, and in 1905 became a "first grade" four year high school. It operated as a fully functioning school building until 1991. In 2001, the site was cleared, and the stained glass windows on the front of Central School were used in the renovated Oak Hill Elementary School Building.
