Glenfield Park
Nature
Glenfield Park is a county park in southeastern Montclair, with a small section extending into Glen Ridge in Essex County, New Jersey. Given by Montclair to the Essex County Park System in 1910 and designed by the Olmsted Brothers, it covers about 20 acres. Its character comes from a blend of active recreation and natural landscape: athletic fields, courts, playgrounds, and a community center are paired with a wooded interior along Toney's Brook. Arch bridges, trails, and the overgrown brook corridor known as the Glen make it an unusual patch of wildlife habitat and natural terrain within the surrounding neighborhood.
