Wachita Mountain is a broad summit in southern St. Francois County, Missouri, reaching 1,027 feet and lying about four miles southeast of Doe Run. The St. Francis River runs along its southeastern side, and the mountain’s southern end extends into northern Madison County. Klondike Hill stands to its northeast, and Missouri Route AA crosses the hill from northeast to southwest. Its name shares the same root as nearby Wachita Creek, using a variant spelling of Wichita derived from the Wichita people.
