Henry Parkinson, A. M., lived from 1741 to 1820 and spent his last years at this site. A 1764 graduate of Nassau Hall, now Princeton University, he was known as an excellent classical preceptor and as a Patriot of the Revolution. Serving as regimental quartermaster under Colonel John Stark, he took part in the leading engagements at Bunker Hill, Trenton, Princeton, and Bennington.
