Dayton C. McCann, born on 4-23-1914 to William Archie and Cedonia (Sayes) McCann, served his country from 1940 to 1944 as an AAC reconnaissance pilot in the Pacific Theater during World War II, was active in state and local politics, served as a state representative from 1944 to 1948 and as a Louisiana state senator from 1952 to 1956, and owned the Avoyelles Livestock Auction Market from 1947 to 1966.
