Price’s Scrub State Park is a 962-acre protected area in Marion County near Micanopy that also contributes to the proposed Northwest Marion Greenway linking Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park and Goethe State Forest. Acquired by the state in 2002 through the Florida Forever program, it serves both habitat protection and broader recreation and conservation goals. The park is known for high biodiversity, with at least fifteen natural communities, nearly 70 reported bird species, sinkhole lakes, and varied plant life. Its 9.5-mile trail system crosses contrasting terrain, while the property also preserves prehistoric archaeological sites and part of a 19th-century stagecoach route.
