A large stone shed once stood here until it was destroyed by a tornado in 1911. At the time, Fent's younger brother, Tom, was adding onto his home about one-half mile west, and he used most of the stones from the shed for that addition. A 1990 archeological investigation determined that the shed had been used for storage and animal shelter.
