Constructed from 1935 to 1937 by J. W. Pyburn, an educator and school superintendent, the Pyburn House was originally a teacherage and is an excellent example of folk architecture. It has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the United States Department of the Interior and is Registered Cultural Property site no. 1593 in the State of New Mexico.
