During the Vietnam War, men and women of Dunbar served their country. Among them were PFC Lawrence George "Larry" Eans of 1st Plt., Co. B, 1st Engineer BN, Combat Engineers, U.S. Marine Corps, born 2-13-48 and killed in action 12-11-68, and PFC Joseph Allen Clingerman of Troop E, 17th Cavalry, 173rd Airborne Div., U.S. Army, born 10-8-48 and killed in action 5-6-68. Their service and sacrifice are honored with the words, "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends," John 15:13.
