Vince Lombardi lived with his family in a red brick ranch home on Sunset Circle during his nine years as coach of the Green Bay Packers. His wife Marie, son Vince Jr. and daughter Susan lived there with him after the family moved into the house in the fall of 1959, his first season as coach, and remained until he accepted the coaching job in Washington in February 1969. During that period, Lombardi coached the Packers from 1959 to 1967 and won five National Football League championships, then served as the team's general manager in 1968. The house, then in the Town of Allouez, had four bedrooms, a living room with a fireplace, a dining room, a family room, and a downstairs rec room with a bar, bar stools, and a refrigerator. The family entertained there after Sunday games in Green Bay, usually hosting close friends at gatherings that were almost always victory celebrations. In that rec room, Lombardi received a phone call from President John F. Kennedy after winning the 1961 NFL championship, and he was frequently interrupted there by congratulatory calls after the Ice Bowl in 1967.
