Education
Fullerton Elementary stood in the foreground and the high school in the background. After school hours, Masons and Eastern Star groups met upstairs in the elementary school. During the Fullerton time, public education in Louisiana was free, but students had to buy their own textbooks. The school colors were maroon and white, and the high school reportedly won the state basketball tournament in 1927. Its paper was called "The Spizurinktom," and high school courses included French and Latin. The Fullerton Class of 1927 was the last graduation class from Fullerton High School.
