Clinton Peak is a 13,864-foot mountain in Colorado’s Mosquito Range of the Rocky Mountains, about 2.1 miles east of Fremont Pass on the Continental Divide. Its summit rises above 4,000 meters, making it one of Colorado’s thirteeners. The peak stands where the boundary between San Isabel National Forest and Lake County meets Pike National Forest and Park County. Unusually, it was named for former U.S. president Bill Clinton. Its high position on the divide creates an exposed alpine setting with a subarctic climate, bringing cold snowy winters, cool to warm summers, year-round precipitation, frequent summer thunderstorms, and a drier period in late spring.
