Chatsworth School was built circa 1915 as a one-room schoolhouse for the black children of the Antioch Community. It was one of approximately twenty black schools in Henrico County supervised by the visionary educator Virginia E. Randolph. The Rosenwald Fund provided a matching grant to build the school, and Anna T. Jeanes Funds supported instruction for students in grades one through four. Its curriculum was said to include everything from bookwork to banking. The school closed in 1956.
