Bob Stratton Bald is a grassy high-elevation summit in the Unicoi Mountains of western North Carolina, within the Joyce Kilmer-Slickrock Wilderness of Nantahala National Forest. Named for Robert "Bob" Stratton, who lived there with his family in the mid-19th century, it consists of two adjoining balds, Stratton Bald and Bob Bald, that together create broad open views uncommon among the surrounding forested ridges. Characterized by thick grass and relatively few trees, it is part of the southern Appalachian bald landscape. Reached by the Stratton Bald Trail, with connections to the Benton MacKaye Trail and Cherohala Skyway, it remains a popular hiking and backpacking destination valued for both scenery and regional cultural history.
