Darlington is one of Pennsylvania's North Country National Scenic Trail Towns, a quiet town with historical value where visitors can stroll through downtown and visit the Little Beaver Historical Society, the Greersburg Museum, or the McCarl Museum of Industry and Agriculture. The Darlington Polo Field hosts Friday evening Polo Club games from May through September under the lights and the annual Darlington Days Festival on the first weekend of June. The blue-blazed road walk into Darlington from the northeast is a six mile hike from the Wampum, PA area on Rt. 168, passing through the area of the Big Beaver Wetlands Project and the town of New Galilee, PA. Heading west out of town, the trail crosses the North Fork of Little Beaver Creek and enters the woods, then stretches 10 miles over scenic hills and valleys through State Game Lands 285 into Ohio. Multiple trailheads provide access to this habitat for hunting, hiking, geocaching, and more. Watt's Mill was unique in design because its water wheel lay on its side and was well regarded for the quality of its buckwheat flour; it became known as Watt's Mill in 1840 when Foulke's passed away and was destroyed by fire in January 1915 after being struck by lightning. Hippie Bridge was rehabilitated by the Pennsylvania Game Commission in 2013 and now provides a safe crossing of the North Fork Little Beaver Creek, with an access parking lot off Cannelton Road leading back on a spur trail to the bridge and the North Country Trail. Indian Rock atop Painter's Knob is a mysterious carved stone with many theories about its origin. The North Fork Little Beaver Creek includes some of the most rugged and wildest land in Ohio and Pennsylvania, is home to the endangered hellbender salamander, retains its original aquatic community, and offers breathtaking views from ridges topping over 200 feet.
