This congregation first met in the homes of its members. In 1824, a stone church building was erected at this location, and in 1859 the growing congregation replaced the original building with a one-story frame structure. Formerly part of the Hockessin Charge, Ebenezer became a separate station in 1897, and a parsonage built soon afterward served as the home for the church's ministers until it was dismantled in 1968. As suburban settlement spread during the 1950's, the congregation again outgrew its facilities. Additional property was purchased in 1954, a new Education Building was completed in 1964, the present sanctuary was constructed in 1975-76, and a Christian Life Center was completed in 1993. For a time, the old frame church was used for Sunday School classes and as a meeting place for the local Korean United Methodist congregation before, after many years of service to the church and community, it was demolished in 1998.
