The Over-the-Jumps Carousel at the Little Rock Zoo in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a rare survivor from the early 20th century and is believed to be the last operating over-the-jumps carousel in the world. Built in the 1920s and first shown at the 1924 Arkansas State Fair, it is notable for an unusual riding motion created by an original undulating wooden platform. Its horses were carved by the Spillman Engineering Company, and the ride also uses a caterpillar drive from the 1960s. After years in private ownership, a local nonprofit acquired it and donated it to the zoo in 2007. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
