At Main Street over the West Branch of the DuPage River, the first bridge was a four-arch stone bridge that stood from 1856 to 1892, designed by James Mulvey and built by Robert Reed. The second bridge at Main Street was a two-arch stone bridge that stood from 1892 to 1931, also designed by James Mulvey and built by Robert C. Morrison.
