At The Dawes Arboretum, evergreens forming the word “Dawes” were planted by and dedicated to volunteers of the Dawes Arboretum on October 14, 1990. The hedge lettering extends 2,040 feet; it was originally planted in 1930 and 1940 and replanted in 1990 and 1991.
